Let's Talk Shop
I am the sole proprietor of the DulcimerCraft musical instrument shop. My oldest son, Michael, helps out in the shop when the mood strikes him and I hope someday for all my children to gain some interest in lutherie.

The Shopkeeper
I was born in Pinch, WV at the age of 0. I was raised all over West Virginia, Ohio, Indiana, Tennessee, and Kentucky. I come from good German, Russian, Eastern European stock, with a respectable amount of Cherokee and Scotch-Irish thrown in for good measure.
I attended college at Berea in eastern Kentucky from 1989 to 1993. There, I obtained a BA in Philosophy. Whilst there I also studied everything else I possibly could from theater to woodworking. I figured as long as my tuition was paid for, I would do my absolute best to learn whatever was available. It was at Berea that I discovered my love for musical instrument making.
I went to seminary at Asbury in Wilmore, Kentucky from 1993 to 1997. I had a great time in school, but in reflection I believe that I would have learned more had I been much more mature.
I am the father of four of the most wonderful, beautiful, intelligent, creative children ever. They range in ages from 8 to 18. Each of them occasionally helps in the shop and I hope someday for them to share my love of woodworking.
I am a Christian and I try to serve God to the best of my ability. I try in all I do to give Him the credit for the works of my hands because I believe my talent comes from Him.
